I received an email this week from Larry Sneed. He, his son and his grandson were at the club fishing recently and send me an email about the trip. The first account is from Kevin, Larry's son, and the second is from Larry himself. Enjoy!!! Get out there and send me stories of your own!

On Thursday, April 12, 3-year old William Snead (grandson of club member Larry Snead) snagged a 6 pound, 23-inch largemouth bass from the lower pond at the Alamance Wildlife Club.  Will was fishing with his very own fishing rod outfit (a 4.5 ft Shakespeare ultralight with 4 lb test!) and this was the first fish he caught with his new rod and reel.  The lure-of-choice was a tiny red wiggler worm at a depth of about 3 feet.  Will's trophy will be mounted and proudly displayed for future doubters who will never believe a 3-year old caught a fish almost as big as himself!

On march 23 my Son Brian caught and released in the new lake a 6 + lb largemouth Bass. We caught over 25 smaller (1-2lb) bass and dressed and ate 19 bream. While most fish were caught on small spinner baits or live red wiggler worms, the large bass hit a 6” black worm. See picture attached.
Today on April 12 we returned to try to catch something bigger. We caught over a dozen fish most were in the one lb to 2 lb range. At noon today my Grandson Will, a 3 year old sports enthusiast, caught and landed a 6 plus lb Largemouth Bass at the clubhouse lake. This was the first fish he caught all by himself, as the rest of the guys were preparing to stop fishing for lunch.  With a new ultralight spincast outfit and a small red wiggler 4 ft. below a bream bobber on 4 lb test line, he caught the largest fish any of my family has found at the Club lakes.  We may not better his effort but we will never forget this day and the pictures will help him to remember his first fish.
Maybe we will catch one of the Hybrid Bream next time.
When he comes to visit I must bring him to the club. Hopefully he can come some meeting night to show his fish.
